Age 53, of Buffalo, entered into rest peacefully on Sunday, August 25, 2019 while at home under the care of Hospice Buffalo, her loving family and many devoted friends and neighbors after a courageous 14-month fight against cancer. A graduate of the University at Buffalo, Jan was an occupational therapist for 30 years, treating thousands of neurological patients at Kenmore Mercy Hospital and later Kaleida Health’s Buffalo Therapy Services. She also provided vestibular therapy and was a certified hand therapist. Jan was an avid runner who trained at Delaware Park and completed several Buffalo half-marathons and the annual Turkey Trot. She also enjoyed kayaking with her husband at Wilkeson Point and in the Buffalo River, as well as hiking with her family, including during vacations to Yellowstone and Yosemite National Parks and the Adirondacks. Jan loved Buffalo, including its restaurants, architecture and art museums. Jan was the beloved wife of Glen A. White for 26 years and loving mother of Aberdeen “Abbey” White; dearest sister of Mary Beth (Tom) Haderer, Kenneth (Ann) Campbell and Laurie Campbell (Bruce Kuntz); sister-in-law of Karen Arnold, Barry (Sandy) Arnold, Bruce Arnold and Glenn Arnold (Deborah Stamp Beasaw). She will also be lovingly remembered by her nieces and nephews; Sarah, Robert and Emily Levin and Aidan and Evan Campbell, extended family and many dear friends and co-workers. Jan was predeceased by her parents, Robert R. and Pauline Campbell and a brother-in-law, Douglas R. White. A Celebration of Jan’s Life will be held from 5-8 PM on Thursday, September 26 at The Marcy Casino in Delaware Park. Please contact the family at JaniceWhiteCelebration@gmail.com if you plan to attend.
