Richard Hiemenz of Clarendon PA, formerly of Buffalo, NY and son of the late June and Richard Hiemenz, was a dedicated, recently-retired Forest Service Engineer. For most of his career he was an oil and gas administrator/road engineer in the Alleghany National Forest. He took his own life on July 14th, 2019. Rick enjoyed many things including a passionate, encyclopedic interest in traditional American jazz, vintage cars and excellent beer. But he was never more at home than when hiking outdoors and contributing to the health of national and state forests. In recent years he took joy on the dance floor and traveled widely throughout Asia, South America, and the Caribbean. Remembrances are most appreciated to the FSEEE (Forest Service Employees for Environmental Ethics) and KTA (Keystone Trails Association of Mechanicsburg PA), groups Rick actively participated in to the ongoing betterment of our forests, for which he will be remembered. Richard is survived by his Aunt Chris (Ant) and Uncle Michael (Unk) in California and his Uncle Wes’s wife, Karen Harlock, of Buffalo, NY as well as several cousins, great-cousins and friends in the Buffalo and Warren areas. The family will be present on Saturday, August 3rd from 11 AM - 2 PM at the (Amherst Chapel) AMIGONE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 5200 Sheridan Dr. (at Hopkins). Share condolences at
